18 February 2019

Yesterday was a relaxing day of laundry, a walk around the block, and going to bed early.

Today I attended the orientation for the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Melbourne. This was by far the best lineup of speakers I have ever experienced for an orientation. The lunch that was provided was also quite good — vegan schnitzel and a variety of salads. I got some useful information and a nice little pile of things to take care of whilst I get myself organized.

After all of the presentations, I went to a tiny Vietnamese place and had a delicious bahnmi for dinner. Then I walked to a famous gelato place, Messina, for some delicious dessert, followed by a walk through the park where I enjoyed watching various dogs playing.

Tomorrow is more orientation meetings, and then Wednesday I will finally meet with my full committee and really get things started.
